This process starts with a solid board in the species of your choice.
Then the lumber is sliced down into flexible strips and kept in sequential order.
Next, the strips are glued back together and tightly clamped around a form in the desired shape (half circle, arch, ellipse, etc.)
Once the glue is dry the curved moulding is shaped with desired profile and hand sanded.
Laminated curved moldings are especially suited for stained applications as the layers in the wood are virtually undetectable.
